Star anise is a famous seasoning spice and also for medicinal purposes. Dried star anise is easier to store and transport, and can be ground into powder, which can be eaten all year round. What needs to be paid attention to during the drying process of star anise, in order to ensure a good drying effect of star anise.
Star anise drying process
Before using the heat pump dryer to dry the star anise, it must be finished first, so that the color after drying can meet the requirements. That is, put the star anise in boiling water for about 3 minutes, wait for the color of the star anise to turn slightly yellow, pick it up, spread it into the drying room of the heat pump dryer, and turn on the air dryer for drying.
First, adjust the heat pump dryer to the drying mode, adjust the temperature to 60°C, and dry for 1 hour. Note that dehumidification is not required at this stage, mainly for color control.
Next, adjust the drying mode of the heat pump dryer to drying + dehumidification, adjust the temperature to 55°C, and dry for 3 hours. Note that this stage requires a lot of dehumidification.
Then keep the drying + dehumidification mode, adjust the temperature to 50°C, and dry for 3 hours. Note that this stage requires a lot of dehumidification. Continue to maintain the drying + dehumidification mode, adjust the temperature to 45°C, and dry for 3 hours. Note that there is relatively little humidity at this stage, and it can be slowly dehumidified.
Finally, adjust the mode to drying mode, adjust the temperature to 65°C, and finish drying after 2 hours.
